Frequently Asked Questions Print
Q.  What is DSA?
A. Downstream Access is ‘access to Royal Mail’s distribution systems at an onward mail centre or any point in the postal activity chain after that’.

Q.Why should I switch?
A.Simple. It’s up to 25% cheaper, it’s delivered in 48hours* as opposed to 10 days taken by Royal Mail, and your campaign is micro-managed by our production team.

Q.Can I switch back?
A.Anytime you want. There are no minimum contracts and no obligations.

Q.What’s different when I switch?
A.A few things do change. The indicia postage mark, the bag labels and obviously the operator & billing.

Q.Is it hassle-free to Switch?
A.Absolutely yes. Our customers use us because we make the switching process seamless.

Q.What is the delivery time?
A.48 hours.*

Q.How is the mail delivered?
A.We arrange for one of Royal Mail’s rivals to collect your mailing campaign. They transport the mail bags around the country and hand them to Royal Mail for delivery by the Postman.

Q.Who is the postal operator?
A.All 50 operators are licensed by Postcomm and include well known brands like DHL, Citipost, & TNT. The rest can be found here

Q.Do I need a return address?
A.Yes – a return address MUST be present on the envelope

Q.What happens if my post is not delivered?
A.Although unusual, we have a track and trace system to locate the mail that may have gone astray.

Q.Will I have to change mailing house?
A.No – there is no need to change the mailing house you normally use and we arrange for training to run through any changes they need to know.

Q.Does the PPI change and will this affect response rates?
A.The PPI does change but has been proven not to affect response rates.

Q.Who is the postman?
A.A good old fashioned Royal Mail postman.

Q.Is my post regulated?
A.Yes. Postcomm regulates each licensed operator and Post-Watch acts as the industry watchdog.

Q.Is the postal competition healthy?
A.Yes – competition has driven costs down and service levels up.
