Our analysis has shown that mail which has been switched is delivered up to 4 times faster than normal Royal Mail post. Our study finds that some Mailsort 3 items are taking up to 20 days to be delivered due to the strike action.

Royal Mail strikes will disrupt regional mail centres on Thursday and postmen on Friday. To avoid delays to your campaign, we are advising clients due to mail next week, to dispatch by Tuesday 20th or delay until Friday 23rd. This should mean that you bypass the backlog and avoid delays in the network.
By switching with us, you will jump the backlog of mail which we estimate is now growing at 50 million items per day. We cant avoid strike delays entirely, but our clients will almost certainly be less affected. Additionally, if your mail campaign can be run through Royal Mail's automated machinery, it will receive preferential service and be less affected by industrial action.

Postcomm has today published its ‘minded to’ decision in connection with its investigation into Royal Mail’s offering of Mailsort Light (“MSL”). Following a detailed investigation and assessment of the evidence gathered, Postcomm is ‘minded to’ conclude that Royal Mail is contravening, has contravened and is likely to contravene (unless appropriate action is taken) Condition 10(2) and Condition 11(2) of its licence through the offering of MSL. |
